Christian Education

What the Christian Education Department is about . . .
The Christian Education Department is an umbrella term for exciting activities, such as the Sunday School (Marinda Vivier), Wednesday Night Live (Hansie Wolmarans), Women’s Fellowship (Shealagh Pistorius), Dorcas (Yvonne Anderson), and the Library (Kate Abbott and Sue Gordon).

Wednesday Night Live is an opportunity to challenge our thinking on issues of religion and the Bible. These talks a lead by highly informed speakers and welcome the opportunity to discuss the issues of everyday life and how they impact on our relationship with God. We meet 18h30 for refreshments in the hall. The meetings are from 19h00-20h00 in the church and we allow ample time for discussion.

There will be no meeting on the 21st March, as it is a public holiday (Human Rights Day)

The next series will be the middle of the year and the theme will be announced.

Book a spot in the library
Pop in to our library – it’s well organised, with good books on a variety of Christian topics. Worship services and WNL lectures are recorded and catalogued as well, and new books are constantly acquired.

Joining other women in fellowship
On the second Monday of every month at 10h00 in Dalziel House, the Women’s Fellowship undertakes devotions and the ladies get to socialise. These are the same ladies who arrange refreshments at funerals and distribute money to various charities.

The Dorcas Society
The Dorcas Society meets once a month on a Tuesday morning in Dalziel house to complete various knitting and sewing projects. Newborn babies at Baragwanath hospital are supplied with clothes and blankets, and abused children also receive necessities. We’d love to welcome new member, so contact Margaret Gaul (084 2262653) or Yvonne Anderson (082 4518362)
