In light of the measures declared in our President’s address to the nation, we would like to take a moment to inform you of how these will impact the life and work of St Columba’s; and what we areplanning to do as we seek to remain faithful in our care of others and creative in our ministry.
What follows is a summary of the decisions taken by Session on Tuesday, the 24th of March 2020:
1. Effective immediately all meetings and gatherings that take place on Church property are
suspended until Friday the 17th of April.
2. Phone calls and emails to the office staff will still be fielded, so if people need to contact the office or ministers, please do so via these means.
3. We will provide a daily devotional prayer and reflection which will be made available on all our Social Media platforms, and will also be emailed to all those on our mailing list. If you would like to receive these, please make sure the office has your email address and that you follow us on Social Media.
4. We will also live-stream, via Facebook Live, services of prayer, reading and reflection on
Wednesday evenings at 18:30 and Sunday Mornings at 09:00 (please note this time as it is not the usual 09:30). These live-stream services will be made available as recordings on our website (www.stcolumbaschurch.co.za) following the streamed services.
As we mentioned last week, the situation remains fluid and relatively unpredictable, the actions outlined above are an illustration of this. Please know that we will continue to communicate regularly in order to keep you updated about the life and work of St Columba’s in these very unsettling times.
We remain deeply committed to playing our role in the fight against the Covid-19 virus, through responsible action and creative ministry. We pray for our country, and for all nations across the globe, that the healing love of God, made known in the person of Jesus, will be ministered to all.
Grace & peace to you all,
The St Columba’s Team
